The actor Lluís Marco was honored yesterday Monday at the Zorrilla Theater in Badalona (Barcelona) with the Venus of Honor at the 48th edition of the FILMETS Badalona Film Festival in recognition of his film career, and for his role as a film and movie dubbing actor of TV.
Born in Badalona (Barcelona) on June 2, 1949, he is one of the most recognized actors of his generation and father of the actress Marta Marco and the basketball player Carles Marco.
The actor received the award from the CEO of Badalona Comunicació, Josep Viñeta Balsells, and was grateful to receive this award in his city and at the Teatro Zorrilla, where he has performed so many times.
"Without a vocation it is impossible to do this job, it is impossible to act as an actor, and now the only thing I maintain is the vocation", Marco highlighted with the Venus of Honor in his hands.
The actor also addressed the students of the film schools in Catalonia who filled the Teatro Zorilla, recommending them "not to give up no matter how wrong you are".
After receiving the Venus of Honor, Marco held a discussion with students from audiovisual schools, such as ESCAC or EMAV, to present the FILMETS CAMPUS session, where they exhibited short films made by themselves.
The actor and dubbing director has given voices in both Catalan and Spanish to actors such as Brendan Gleeson, Ben Kingsley, Harvey Keitel, Colm Meanye, Pete Postletheaite, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Michael Rooker and Danny De Vito.
In addition, he was the voice of Bruno Ganz in his role as the character of Hitler in the movie 'The Downfall'.
Marco has also participated in films such as 'El cazador Furtivo' (1992), by Carlos Benpar; 'Transeúntes' (1994), by Lluís Aller; 'Thank you for the tip' (1997), by Francesc Bellmunt; 'Alpa' (2012), by Joan Cutrina; or 'Hasta Mañana' (2017), by Daniel Torres Santeugini.
Closely linked to the Teatre Lliure, he has also participated in works such as 'Romeo y Julia', 'Soldados de Salamina', 'Nixon-Frost' or 'Quitt'. For the work of 'Soldados de Salamina', he received in 2008 the Prize of the Barcelona Theater Critic in its XIV edition.
