Grandparents never sent so much

Suddenly, the world of yesterday sends me an exciting message –today, without exciting dreams you are nobody–: I have a great future and not behind my back.

The more uncertain the world is, the greater the confusions – you just have to see the messes of sexuality! – and doubtful well-being, the more the global tribe trusts – including the natives of Ejea de los Caballeros – in men who are grandparents. The fact rejuvenates those of us who are not yet, although, consequently, we are forced to do less goofing around and think more about the future.

Austria has re-elected a 78-year-old environmentalist for the presidency this Sunday. Matarella, the presidential dike in Italy against hypothetical fascist drifts, has turned 81. The People's Republic of China will consecrate Xi Jinping, 69, as the new Mao Zedong, 69 years old, a pipiolo for the communist gerontocracy. His interlocutor of his in Washington? Joe Biden, 79 years old. And the white hope of many Barcelonans is called Xavier Trias, 76 years old (well managed).

The matter has me out of place and I am very happy because it suggests that age transmits confidence to the voters –and/or fear to the subjects–, despite all of them being analogs, who should distrust networks and new technologies as much as or more than me. It will still be an advantage for politicians of stature not to find out that Iker Casillas has said that he is gay but in jest!

I already understand that all of them want to send – to make money it's too late – instead of escorting the grandchildren to school, chasing lonely hearts or reviewing the obituaries, like the one who stretches his legs for Retiro. Incidentally, it reduces the risk of skirt trouble, which so many company captains, soccer presidents and statesmen have lost.

The only one who has failed me is Song Ping, an immortal from the old communist guard (not to be confused with Song Pong, a pro-independence Chinese from Lloret de Mar). Song Ping will leave the CCP politburo this weekend, the twenty who cut the cod. And all because he has turned 105. Goodbye to a great influencer!
