Two days later, of a heart attack, the mother of deceased pilot Victor Steeman dies

A new tragedy hits the family of Victor Steeman, the driver who lost his life last Tuesday in Portimao after suffering an accident during the Supersport 300 Portuguese GP. Just two days after the sad news, the young man's mother pilot, 22, has also died after suffering cardiac arrest at home. Flora van Limbeek was the victim of a heart attack last Thursday night while she was at her house in Lathum, at the age of 59, according to the Dutch portal Racesport.nl.

A hard blow for the motorcycling family, which last weekend experienced a sad day at the Algarve circuit, in Portimao. Victor Steeman suffered a serious accident on Saturday, while competing in the Supersport 300 Grand Prix of Portugal.

The Kawasaki rider was taken to hospital, where his death was confirmed last Tuesday: "Despite the efforts of the circuit and hospital medical staff, he has unfortunately succumbed to his injuries." His own father spoke about the death of his son after hearing the sad news: “Our Victor could not win this last race. Despite the unbearable loss and pain, we are very proud to share that our hero was able to save another five people by donating his organs. We would like to thank everyone for the way they have lived with us during the last few days. We will greatly miss Victor."

At 22 years old, Steeman was one of the great figures of motorcycling. He was the driver with the most pole positions in the category, a milestone that he reached at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, and this year he was completing a great season. In fact, he arrived with mathematical possibilities of becoming champion at the Portuguese GP.
