ACS doubles benefits and earns 480 million euros until September

ACS doubles benefits and earns 480 million euros until September

During the first nine months of 2022, the ACS Group recorded a net profit of 480 million euros, an amount that represents double the results obtained in September 2021, once the contribution of the Industrial Services activity sold to Vinci last month of December, as reported deposited this Thursday before the National Commission of Markets and Securities (CNMV).

Sales reached 24,526 million euros, growing by 20.4% compared to the previous year, although due to the strong international activity of the group, taking into account the effect of exchange rates, this increase would be limited to 10.6%.

The gross operating profit (Ebitda) amounted to 1,263 million euros, 8.4% more than in the same period of the previous year, driven by the contribution of Abertis, which amounted to 133 million euros, 23% more . Although all the areas and all the geographical zones in which the company is present contributed positively to the results of the period.

The Group has reported a strong reduction in debt after closing the period with a negative 288 million, compared to the 3,573 registered in the same period of the previous year after having allocated 1,502 million euros to strategic acquisitions such as the Public Offer of Acquisition of the total of capital of its Australian subsidiary Cimic and the acquisition of 14.46% of Hochtief.

All the geographical zones and areas of the company's activity contributed positively to the group's result. The net profit of the Construction area reached 255 million euros, which represents a growth of 22.1%.

In Concessions, the contribution of 113 million provided by Abertis stands out, as well as the contribution of Iridium, to reach a net profit of 145 million euros, 36.1% more.

The area of ​​Services developed by Clece obtained a net profit of 22 million euros, increasing by 5.5%.

The Corporation's result includes in 2022, among others, the results from the sale of renewable energy assets, mainly 25% of the photovoltaic plants in Spain sold to Galp, as well as the positive impact (25 million euros) of the variation of the fair value of financial instruments related to the ACS share, which in 2021 had a negative impact of 73 million euros.
