The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, this Sunday urged the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, to withdraw the draft budget for 2023 and present another "more realistic" one. If he had "a minimal sense of state" he would do it, Feijóo said, citing the different organizations that, according to the popular leader, have disavowed the numbers, including the Bank of Spain and the Monetary Fund.
At the closing of the 13th Congress of the PP in Lleida, the popular leader expressed his surprise at the fact that Sánchez's executive "continues to talk about unauthorized budgets by all the independent organizations in Spain and by other international organizations", which triggers the debt and that only serves to satisfy the government partners "with the sole objective of perpetuating themselves in office".
"Living from posturing is easier than living from public accounts. We come to talk about accounts and the Government to continue living on stories" said Feijóo to the applause of the attendees, to whom he acknowledged, however, that the PP does not have it easy in Catalonia and that the results have not been good for years.
"We are a humble party, and it is humble to recognize that when you do not have the results that we would like to have, we do not blame anyone. Sometimes we do not interpret what the citizens ask of us, sometimes we do not know how to explain ourselves better.
