Espanyol does not know how to win in Cádiz

he qualifiers run out when it comes to talking about Espanyol's goal. And they are all negative. Last June, Espanyol announced to everyone's surprise that Diego López would not continue at the club after six years. Shortly after he did the same with Oier Olazábal. The sports management made the decision without closing the incorporation of a substitute and with the passage of time that decision has been shown to be one of the big planning mistakes this year. Lecomte arrived as an unexpected resource, but he did not convince in the first three days. He was replaced by the desired Álvaro Fernández, but the Riojan accumulated such rude mistakes that Diego Martínez decided to send him to the bench against Cádiz. At the Mirandilla Lecomte he made the rounds with another unforgivable mistake that again cost him a goal against and, in the end, two points.

Return to the starting box. Bad luck has become an almost dramatic syndrome. What to do from now on? Joan Garcia, third goalkeeper, is the only one who has not failed, but because he has not played.

And despite the gibberish of the goal, Espanyol managed a much-needed point in Cádiz. It is partly explained by Lecomte's mistake, by the team's defensive incapacity, but also by Joselu's forcefulness in the rival area, a striker who lives by his head but who has a lot to offer with his feet. The German of Galician origin vindicated himself from the goal. He has six this course. He wants to be the leader of this team and merits are not lacking.

With his two goals, Espanyol overcame Chust's in a disastrous first half, possibly the worst of the entire season. And it is that this team is still determined to oppose to play the Six Nations that begins in February. And that is not the way. Once again the lack of resources beyond the long ball unhinged a group that was a ghost throughout the first half. A calamity. A nonsense. Cádiz, with more limited resources, cornered the Blue and Whites in a blushing way. He had only scored one goal in seven games and none at his stadium. Against Espanyol he scored two, but deserved several more.

The Vigo coach opted for a mini revolution in the eleven. In addition to the unlucky Lecomte, he gave Melamed and Aleix Vidal the title at the ends, who did not count in the coach's plans until a month ago. But the offensive baggage in the first act was catastrophic. Neither approaches nor merit to do so. The first half hour was a wasteland. And to top it off Lecomte gave away a goal in a bad start. Chust took advantage of it to score without opposition.

But football does not always attend to merits, and in a great start to the second half, Espanyol ate Cádiz. Martínez threw Expósito to a band and centered Puado on point, who had entered for the injured Melamed, and his team was another. The pressure had an effect and allowed Darder to relate better to his teammates, who now found spaces. That's how Joselu's goals came. The first with a header at the far post. The second shot from inside the area after an inside pass from Expósito. They were twenty minutes of glory in which Puado and Joselu himself touched the third with clear chances.

When the match seemed under control, Darder was injured and with it Espanyol lost their bearings. Mirandilla began to press as usual and inertia led Cádiz to believe. Lucas Pérez equalized in the final stretch and in the added period he sent a free kick to the crosshead. The point knows little about Espanyol, but they have to worry about having conceded 16 goals in eight games
