Police say that Connecticut boy, 6 years old, was not intentionally burned.

A 6-year-old Connecticut boy's family claimed that a bully had covered a tennis ball in gasoline, set it on fire, and then thrown it at him, leaving him with second and third degree burns.

Bridgeport police stated that an investigation had not found any evidence that the boy had been intentionally injured.

After reviewing footage of four children aged 6, 7, 8, and 11 playing in the backyard of a house on the day of the incident, authorities came to this conclusion. According to police, the youngest children were seen playing with gasoline and fire.

Police stated in a statement that there was nothing in the video showing any child intentionally injuring another.

This development comes almost two months after Dominick Kranall was admitted to Bridgeport Hospital's burn unit on April 24.

The photos of the boy shortly after the incident showed that his face was almost completely covered in bandages. His face was swollen.

According to the boy's sister, NBC New York reported that her brother was playing outside when a "bully called him name and lured" him around the corner.

According to the news station, "He came back around the corner screaming, and said, 'Mommy! They lit me on fire.'" The sister Kayla Deegan stated.

Dominick's family did not comment on the findings of the police department.

According to police, the boy was released from the hospital.

Authorities stated that the entire first responder community was praying for him and their continued thoughts and prayers were with all those involved.

Although video does not show that anyone intentionally hurt the boy, police stated that their investigation isn't over. According to officials, additional interviews will be conducted.
