The PP now leaves support for Puig's idea of subsidizing Inheritance to the family business

One day after the partners of the Botànic staged, in Les Corts, their disagreements around Ximo Puig's proposal to also discount the Inheritance Tax for large family businesses and the PP was in favor of supporting the proposal, Carlos Mazón He has preferred to leave his party's support for the measure up in the air.

It does not seem that the unanimity achieved by the Valencian president on Thursday in Les Corts regarding a tax reform that was born with many detractors and ended with the support of all parliamentary groups (including the always complicated vote of the extreme right).

For this reason, despite the fact that his trustee in Les Corts, María José Catalá, defended that his group will support the proposal, Mazón preferred to leave it up in the air. If the PSPV, which needs the support of an opposition party to carry out its amendment to the Accompanying Law, wants the votes of the PP, it will have to win it over.

It is not that the popular ones are against the proposal, but they do want to take advantage of it to try to bring out what they consider to be the contradictions of the president who has come out of the complicated labyrinth he got into by announcing a tax reform no consensus.

Yesterday, Mazón pointed out that the PP will wait to see what the socialists present before making a pronouncement. And he argued: "We are against the death tax in all its dimensions. Our proposal is its elimination for all. Puig's problem is that it is not clarified and we do not know what his proposal consists of"

In this sense, he indicated that it is "very far from agreeing with a proposal that speaks only of companies, but forgets about families."

The president of the PP of the Valencian Community is not without reason when he warns that there is no agreement in the Valencian Government regarding this initiative. The vice president of the Consell, Aitana Mas, acknowledged yesterday that there is no unanimity in the Consell on the inheritance tax bonus. Thus, Mas insisted that "this is an issue that the political parties in Les Corts must assess."

Who went beyond the formal assessment was the regional secretary of the Treasury, Francesc Gamero, from Compromís, who hinted that if the PSPV finally goes ahead with the inheritance tax rebate with the support of the opposition “it would be a situation of disloyalty ”. And he valued that it would be the moment "in which Compromís and Unides Podem" should value the pact of the Botànic.
