Miriam was not immediately available to return requests for comment, but she said in an Instagram post that Sydney Presley— the woman who created a chicharrones Halloween costume last year— is the inspiration for her puro and pinup-style wardrobe.  

She said she has been "bombarded" with posts since We Are Mitu, a website dedicated to sharing Latino voices, posted a Facebook photo of her work on Thursday.
