The Aragonese president, Javier Lambán, admitted for a urine infection

The president of the Government of Aragon, the socialist Javier Lambán, has been admitted since last night at the Miguel Servet hospital in Zaragoza for a urine infection, as reported by the communication department of the regional government.

The mishap has forced him to suspend his appearance today in plenary session of the Cortes de Aragón, where he had planned to report on emergency prevention mechanisms and forest management.

Apparently, Lambán suffers from a mild infection. The president already had a little fever on Wednesday afternoon. In the end, the doctors decided to transfer him from his home in Ejea de los Caballeros (municipality in the province of Zaragoza) to the hospital in the capital, where he was admitted at around 1:15 in the morning as a precaution, given that in October 2020 he suffered an infectious prostatitis.

Later, in May 2021, Lambán underwent surgery at that same hospital for colon cancer that had been diagnosed three months earlier. The president was able to overcome the disease and continue with his functions at the head of the Government, although he continues with the usual medical check-ups.

His last public appearance took place on Monday, the day on which he announced that the Danish multinational Scanmetals plans to invest 60 million euros in the start-up of a non-ferrous metal processing and recovery plant in a Pedrola industrial estate (Zaragoza province). ). The project will create up to 80 direct jobs and around 15,000 indirect ones, according to their figures.

At the moment, it is unknown how long he will remain hospitalized and how his entry into the Executive's agenda will affect.
