Police arrest four Arran youths for vandalism

The National Police have arrested four young members of Arran, a pro-independence organization, in an operation directed by the investigating court number 4 of Lleida. As police sources explain to La Vanguardia, they have been arrested for various acts of street vandalism.

Among them, they are accused of attacking train tracks or bank branches. According to these same sources, the acts would have spread to various parts of Catalonia.

After learning of the arrests, a statement was released from Arran through social networks to describe it as a "repressive operation" by the Police, in which the Mossos d'Esquadra have not intervened.

"We are facing a new case of criminalization and political and police persecution of organized and combative youth," says the youth organization before demanding that its militants be "attentive to calls" to support the militants arrested this Wednesday.

Among the acts, they had called to go to the police station where the detainees were before going to court, as a way of putting pressure on and rejecting the arrests.

Police sources do not rule out that there may be more detainees because the operation is still open.
