The JERC of Badalona vandalize two recently remodeled pavilions with posters

Controversy in Badalona (Barcelonès Nord) once two sports pavilions, recently remodeled and reformed for the celebration of the Copa del Rey, the one in Casagemes and the one in Bufalà, appeared yesterday with propaganda posters glued to some doors of the facilities. Some signs that made reference to the Joventuts d'Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (JERC) to a campaign in favor of Catalan. The vandal action has received criticism from all sectors, but especially from Esquerra Republicana.

The mayor of Badalona, Rubén Guijarro, was very critical of the pasting of the JERC posters and described the action as "uncivil acts". For his part, the president of ERC, Àlex Montornès, apologized publicly and together with several militants went to remove the pasted posters.

The Republican spokesman assured on social networks that he supports the Joventuts campaign, but doing it "spoiling municipal facilities is a mistake." Montornés assured that "I don't want anyone to dirty the city, not even ours" and affirmed that the JERC have made a mistake, since "posters cannot be hung in a municipal facility" that had just been remodeled and painted, "for which tens of thousands of euros have been invested".
