Rockwell Automation Signs More Than $5.5 Million in Asset Management Service
Agreements for Major Manufacturers

RAAMP™ will help companies reduce MRO inventory expenses and repair costs, streamline maintenance operations
MILWAUKEE, May 13, 2002 — Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) has been engaged to provide Rockwell Automation Asset Management Program (RAAMP™) agreements totaling more than $5.5 million to several major manufacturers during its second fiscal quarter. Under the agreements, Rockwell Automation will manage maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) assets at facilities for Fortune 500 manufacturers, including Alcoa, Briggs & Stratton, John Deere Harvester Works, International Truck and Engine Corporation and other U.S.-based manufacturers.
The service engagements, signed between January and March 2002 through Rockwell Automation Allen-Bradley authorized distributors, will serve companies in the automotive, agricultural equipment, consumer products, metals and mining, and paper processing industries.
“The continued trend of companies outsourcing MRO asset management underscores the ongoing market demand for services and technological resources that can improve total operating efficiency and profitability,” said Mike Laszkiewicz, vice president, Asset Management business, Rockwell Automation. “Based on previous experience with similar size accounts, it’s not uncommon for companies to save anywhere from $500,000 to $1 million in reduced MRO expenses during the first year of RAAMP engagements.”
Working with its extensive network of Allen-Bradley distributors, Rockwell Automation's Global Manufacturing Solutions business will assume inventory and MRO asset management responsibilities at the customers’ facilities. RAAMP will provide the framework for managing the repair and tracking of repairable assets and product warranties, as well as optimizing MRO inventory levels and maintenance resources.
The RAAMP program uses Rockwell Automation’s extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in managing MRO assets to provide companies with a customized outsourced program. The program helps improve inventory accuracy and accelerate part repairs, enabling manufacturers to reduce MRO expenses, maximize investments and achieve greater overall return on net assets (RONA).
Distributor partners involved in the service agreements include:
· Consolidated Electric Distribution for Alcoa;
· Englewood Electric for International Truck and Engine Corporation;
· Schott Electric for Briggs & Stratton; and
· Van Meter Industrial for John Deere Harvester Works.
