HEBREWRESOURCES.COM TEACHES VISITORS HEBREW--ONE WORD AT A TIME.
Website offers first ever online Hebrew class, plus a variety of Hebrew
resources.
Rockwall, TX--If you've ever had the desire to learn Hebrew, but were afraid
it was just too large a task, HebrewResources.com offers a number of solutions,
including the first online class of its kind beginning October 4, 1999.
Class resources to make learning easier include an online discussion forum
where students can post questions and share information with others. There is a
members-only website, audio files of the vocabulary and dialog for each lesson,
online tests, class exercises, the dreaded "H" word homework, graded progress
reports, and a signed certificate upon successful completion of the course.
Neal Walters, the instructor, and owner of HebrewResourcescom, designed the
class to assist adults who desire to learn to speak and write Hebrew. Unable to
find appropriate learning resources while studying Hebrew himself as an adult,
Mr. Walters created his original Windows-based Hebrew computer tutorial in 1992
as a means to teach others what he had learned. The program, "At Home With
Hebrew", which features over 2800 recorded Hebrew voice files is on CD-ROM and
is sold through the HebrewResources.com website.
Besides the online class, HebrewResources.com provides a proverbial gold mine
of information for students and anyone else interested in learning more about
the "Holy Language." Over 1,100 subscribers receive a Hebrew word each day to
help them learn the language in bite-size chunks. There are online Hebrew letter
charts derived from Walters' computer tutorial, online reviews of other Hebrew
courses available, a general overview of the Hebrew language, the Torah and
Canting, and even a discussion of the mysteries of the Hebrew Language, which
are "not found in English translations of the scriptures."
The site also offers links to recommended books, as well as a new section of
links to other Hebrew sites including instructions to get Hebrew fonts and live
audio.
Altogether, the site, and the online class, offer an extensive collection of
all things Hebrew and serve as tremendous educational resources for students of
the Bible and Hebrew.
