DALLAS, TX – December 14, 1998 – “This is a great time for healthcare and the
Internet,” says Health IT company president, Jivesh Sharma, M.D., “and our new
CEO is keeping us on track.” Health Integration Technologies provides a full
range of technology services for the healthcare industry: complete web site
development and marketing, Intranets, Extranets, web-enabling databases and
educational courses.
The company’s new CEO, Ellen Magnis, is a recent graduate from the University
of Texas at Dallas’ Cohort MBA program. The program emphasizes training for
“management skills in the information age.” Magnis is one of the top 21 MBA
students in the State of Texas who received the prestigious Texas Business Hall
of Fame scholarship during 1998. She became CEO of HealthIT in October. With her
fifteen years of healthcare administration and consulting experience, she is an
ideal leader for Health IT. “Ellen understands the healthcare industry inside
and out” continues Dr. Sharma. “The question is no longer what can the
technology do, but rather how do you want to use the technology? We chose Ellen
Magnis because the challenge is all about understanding healthcare processes and
transforming them. She has already taken the lead and pulled a great team of
people together to help us reach our goals.”
Together with help from the rest of the team, Sharma and Magnis have put
Health Integration Technologies (http://www.healthit.com)
on the map. In just a few short months, the company has solidified a strategic
alliance with US West and is in the planning stages of a major Internet and
Healthcare Conference for 1999. They are also in discussions with a potential
pharmaceutical partner. The sales and marketing effort has started, and a steady
stream of work is in the “company pipeline.”
“This is an exciting time to be involved with the healthcare industry and
with technology. The potential for improving the delivery of information to
patients and providers is unlimited” says Magnis.
